Connecting boundary layer dynamics with extreme bulk dissipation events in Rayleigh-Bénard flow <sup>(a)</sup>

چکیده

We study the connection between extreme events of thermal and kinetic energy dissipation rates in bulk three-dimensional Rayleigh-Bénard convection wall shear stress patterns at top bottom plates that enclose layer. Zero points this two-dimensional vector field stand for detachments strong plumes. If their position opposite a given time is close then they can be considered as precursors high-amplitude triggered by plume collisions or passings. This scenario requires breaking synchronicity boundary layer dynamics both which found to line with transition derivative statistics from Gaussian intermittent. Our studies are based on high-resolution direct numerical simulations moderate Rayleigh numbers .
